Change the Way This Page Looks!!

Hey, don't like the way this page looks, change it. Log in, go to your account settings snd choose edit. Scroll down and you'll see three options. Garland is the default. Try one of the other two and if you don't like them, change back.

If none of these appeal to you, head over to the Drupal theme garden and look around. If you see one you like, let us know and we'll make it available - http://themegarden.org/drupal6/.

DED - Dutch Elm Disease

DED-1.jpg

Pleasant Street is losing two more elms to the dreaded Dutch Elm Disease. This will make the second and third elm to go on the block between Humphrey and Taylor (far right and far left in bottom picture) The stump from the first remains.

With such a nice stand of elms remaining on the 100 block of South Taylor, one wonders if there isn't something we ought to be doing to protect them. Losing all of them would be tragic.

Kevin Wiley Deployed

From Gary and Betty Wiley,

Greetings to all our former neighbors (but always friends) from Taylor Ave.

I don't normally do group mailings but this news is something I would rather not repeat more often than needed. Kevin called the other night and said he is being deployed to Afghanistan in October for six months. He will be stationed at Bagram Air Base in Kabul and will work as an Electronic Warfare
Officer teaching Army personel how to use bomb detection equipment.
